Describe an image in words and get a finished file. All 10 models generate from text: they differ in aspect ratios, resolutions, price, and response time. You can try a prompt in the playground, without code.

01How to get

How to get an image from text

Four steps, from choosing a model to a finished file.

  1. Choose a model. Its ID goes in the model field: nano-banana-pro, nano-banana-2, nano-banana-2.1, nano-banana-flash, nano-banana-2-lite, gpt-image-2, gpt-image-2-hd, gpt-image-2.5, gpt-image-2.5-sunburst, or gpt-image-2.5-flare.
  2. Describe the image. Start with the subject, then the details: lighting, angle, style. Put the text for the image in quotes and name the genre directly: “poster”, “product card”, “top-down view”. Up to 20,000 characters.
  3. Set the aspect ratio and resolution. The aspect_ratio and resolution fields are optional: without them the aspect ratio is 1:1; the resolution is 2K for Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, and Nano Banana 2.1, and 1K for Nano Banana Flash, Nano Banana 2 Lite, GPT Image 2, GPT Image 2 HD, GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, and GPT Image 2.5 Flare.
  4. Pick up the result. The 202 response contains an ID. The status and links are at GET /creations/{id}, no more than once every 5 seconds; instead of polling, pass webhook_url. Result files are stored for one day.

Aspect ratios are counted without auto: it is available on 4 Google models; Nano Banana 2 Lite doesn’t have it. The price depends on the resolution; the full table is on the “Pricing” page.

Questions about models

How do I write a good prompt?
Start with the subject, then the details: lighting, angle, style. Put the text for the image in quotes, and name the genre directly: “poster”, “product card”, “top-down view”. A prompt can be up to 20,000 characters long.
Which aspect ratios are supported?
8–14 aspect ratios depending on the model: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst has 8, GPT Image 2.5 Flare has 8, GPT Image 2.5 has 13, Nano Banana 2 has 14, Nano Banana 2.1 has 14. The auto mode is available on 4 Google models: Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2.1, and Nano Banana Flash; without aspect_ratio it is 1:1.
Which resolution should I choose?
1K is for previews and drafts, 2K and 4K for websites, print, and large banners. 4K is available on 6 models; Nano Banana Flash, Nano Banana 2 Lite, GPT Image 2, and GPT Image 2.5 generate only at 1K.
Can I get several images in one request?
No: one request, one image. For a series, send several requests.
What happens if the model declines?
The request ends as failed with a reason code, and the amount returns to your balance. A failed request is free: the amount goes straight back to your balance. The charge and the refund are visible in the transaction history.
How long does an image take?
On average from 29 to 43 seconds over the last 7 days, depending on the model. Check the status with GET /creations/{id} or pass webhook_url.
