Uptime is the share of the last 90 days when a component was not in the “Outage” state. Degraded performance and scheduled maintenance are not counted. Gray days mean “no data”: each component’s history starts on its own date, which the tooltip of the gray day shows. If a day is rated only by the share of successful requests, the tooltip says so. If a request fails, the money goes back to your balance automatically. How to handle errors and retries is covered in the documentation.
