Six images made with this model, with their prompts. “Open in the playground” fills the prompt and parameters into the form.

A mint-colored ceramic mug on a light gray background, side view, a soft shadow beneath it, clean product photography for a catalog card, no lettering or logos

A draft composition for a blog cover: a fishing boat in a quiet bay at dawn, three planes — a dark shore, the boat, light mist over the water, free space on the right, no lettering

A slice of cheesecake with strawberries on a white plate, seen from an angle, a light wooden table, a teaspoon and a few berries beside it, soft daylight, a photo for a dessert catalog, no lettering

Three bouquets of wildflowers in kraft paper on the wooden counter of a flower shop, morning light from the window, a bucket of greenery beside them, no signs or lettering

A flat illustration for the preview of an article on remote work: a laptop on a wooden desk by a window, a cup of tea, a houseplant, rooftops outside the window, soft pastel colors, no lettering

An armchair upholstered in ochre with slim wooden legs on a light background, a faint shadow on the floor, studio light, a photo for a furniture catalog, no lettering or logos
04API
One request, one image
POST /images/ responds with 202 and an ID. Get the result by polling GET /creations/ or with a webhook.
| Parameter | Type | What to pass |
|---|---|---|
modelrequired | string | nano-banana-flash |
promptrequired | string | What to draw: subject, style, lighting, text in the image. Up to 20,000 characters. |
resolution | string | 1K is the only resolution. If omitted: 1K. |
aspect_ratio | string | 1:1 16:9 9:16 4:3 3:4 2:3 3:2 5:4 4:5 21:9, or auto. If omitted: 1:1. |
image_file_ids | string[] | Up to 14 file IDs from POST /uploads, as reference images: PNG, JPEG, or WebP. For a text-only request, leave the field out. |
image_urls | string[] | Instead of files: from 1 to 14 public links to images. Don’t mix them with image_file_ids. |
webhook_url | string | An address for the event about completion or an error, instead of polling. |
X-Idempotency-Keyheader | string | Repeating a request with the same key won’t create a second request or a second charge. |
Pass an address in the webhook_url field and we’ll send a creation.completed or creation.failed event. Verify the signature with the secret from the portal, in the “Webhooks” section; the delivery log and a test send are there too.

What Nano Banana Flash can do
A Google model from the Nano Banana family: image generation and editing at a fixed 1K resolution, standard aspect ratios, and automatic aspect ratio selection, for cases that don’t need a higher resolution.
price per image
Fixed 1K
The model draws at 1K, for cases that don’t need a higher resolution. For 2K and 4K, choose Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, or Nano Banana 2.1.
The aspect ratio for the medium
The aspect ratios are 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 2:3, 3:2, 5:4, 4:5, and 21:9. In auto mode the model picks the aspect ratio: with a reference image it usually follows the aspect ratio of the first one; without one the aspect ratio is not guaranteed. If you don’t pass aspect_ratio, it is 1:1.

automode: with a reference image the model usually follows the aspect ratio of the first one; without one the aspect ratio is not guaranteed, so if your layout depends on it, passaspect_ratioexplicitly.- One request, one image. For a series, send several requests.
- A prompt is required, including with reference images, and can be at most 20,000 characters long.
- Reference images larger than 7 MiB or 4,096 pixels on the longer side may be downscaled or re-encoded; keep your originals.
- Masks are not supported: to change an image, pass it as a reference image and describe the edit in the prompt.
- Resolutions are size tiers, not pixels: the
widthandheightparameters are not accepted. - The result is stored for one day, so download the file to your own storage. A file ID is valid 24 hours after its upload. The stored file is deleted 48 hours after its last upload.
- The model may decline a prompt or a reference image: the request ends as
failed, and the money is returned.
Who it’s for
Composition options and ideas at 1K, before you make the final image at a higher resolution.
Images for cards and catalogs where 1K is enough.
Upload an image as a reference and describe what to change and what to keep.
When the aspect ratio doesn’t matter in advance: auto mode picks it, and with a reference image it follows the aspect ratio of the first one.
How to write prompts
Five rules that most often improve the result.
- Write it like a brief. The product or subject, the scene, the mood, the lighting, the space for text.
- Choose the aspect ratio for the medium.
9:16for stories,16:9for banners,21:9for wide strips; withoutaspect_ratioyou get 1:1. - Put lettering in quotes. Write the text verbatim; short lettering comes out more accurately than long.
- Use reference images for the product and style. Upload up to 14 files and say what to keep and what to change.
- There is one resolution. The model draws at 1K for $0.015; for 2K and 4K, choose Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, or Nano Banana 2.1.
