PoYo alternative for image generation APIs

PoYo is a platform with a single asynchronous API for images, video, music, and chat. Below are the prices for our models from their public pages, including where theirs are cheaper. The terms are shown next to them.

What PoYo is

Briefly, and only from their own pages. Website: poyo.ai.

PoYo (poyo.ai) calls itself a unified API: image, video, music, 3D, and chat models under one key and prepaid credits; their list has 123 models, among them GPT Image 2, Seedance 2, Sora 2, Gemini 3, and Claude. All generations go through a single asynchronous API: a task is submitted, then you poll the status or use a webhook; their summary says failed tasks are not charged.

Prices are in credits; on the model pages the credits are converted to dollars. PoYo sometimes has several variants of one model (for example, nano-banana-pro and nano-banana-pro-official at different prices): the main variant goes into the table, and the others into the footnote.

The difference is measured from the larger of the two prices, rounded down to a whole percent. The “≈” sign is an estimate that the provider’s own page gives. For GPT Image, quality and size differ between providers: each one’s conditions are in the footnote. We compare prices, not image quality. GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, GPT Image 2.5 Flare, Nano Banana Flash, Nano Banana 2 Lite, and GPT Image 2 HD are not in the table: we haven’t checked the provider’s prices for them. Our own prices and the official Google and OpenAI prices are on the “Pricing” page.

Payment, starter credits, and operating mode

04Strengths

Where we’re stronger, and where PoYo is

Only what can be verified from public pages and our documentation.

Where Rendergrid is stronger

One price for each model and resolution, with no credits, no “new” and “official” variants, and no choice of quality. On PoYo’s pages, the price of the GPT Image models depends on quality.
Limits are named: by default 120 requests per minute and up to 100 generations queued or running per account. PoYo’s pages don’t give the values.
The webhook signature is computed over the timestamp and the whole request body, and every delivery has an identifier, automatic retries, and secret rotation.
GET /models returns the current prices for your account, including personal ones.

Where PoYo is stronger

The catalog is wider: images, video, music, chat, and 3D in one balance.
There are test requests with no top-up. We have no trial balance.
Credits don’t expire, and there’s no subscription.
For GPT Image 2 you can choose the low level: on their page it costs $0.010 per 1K. We have no choice of quality.

When to pick PoYo instead

We write this page as a participant in the comparison, so we name separately the cases where PoYo suits you better.

Pick PoYo if

You need a broad catalog, not ten models.
You want a cheap draft mode for GPT Image: PoYo has low and medium quality.
You need test requests before the first top-up.

06Migration

Migrating to Rendergrid in three steps

If you decide to give it a try, here is what to change in the code. Parameters and responses are in the documentation.

Key and address
At PoYo, requests go to https://api.poyo.ai with an Authorization: Bearer header. For us it is https://api.rendergrid.io/api/public/v1 with the same Authorization: Bearer header (or X-API-Key).
Request
Instead of POST /api/generate/submit with a body of model, input, and callback_url, call POST /images/generate. The prompt, aspect_ratio (size at PoYo), and resolution fields sit at the root of the body, and the webhook is set with the webhook_url field. Add X-Idempotency-Key.
Result
Instead of task_id and the statuses not_started, running, finished, and failed, save the ID and poll GET /creations/{id} (queued, processing, completed, and failed; links in result_urls) or accept the creation.completed webhook.

How much does Nano Banana 2 cost at PoYo and at Rendergrid?

According to PoYo’s page, $0.025 per image at 1K (checked on October 26, 2026). At Rendergrid, Nano Banana 2 at 1K costs $0.025 per image. Prices change, so open the provider’s page before you decide: poyo.ai/models/nano-banana-2.

How do you pay at PoYo and at Rendergrid?

We haven’t checked PoYo’s payment method. At Rendergrid: USDT (crypto top-up): the full amount sent is credited to the balance.

Does PoYo give credits at no charge?

Test requests at no charge are claimed, and the amount is not named on the pages. At Rendergrid there’s no trial balance.
